IOM Goodwill Ambassador East, Horn, and Southern Africa

I am honoured to serve as Goodwill Ambassador for the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the UN Migration Agency, for the East, Horn and Southern Africa region.

The appointment covers twenty-five countries, home to 634 million people. It is one of the most complex and consequential migration landscapes in the world. Across this region, millions of people are on the move, displaced by conflict, climate, and economic necessity. Their stories are rarely told with the depth and care they deserve.

I have spent much of my working life among communities for whom migration is not an abstract concept but a daily reality. As Goodwill Ambassador, my commitment is to ensure those communities are not simply the subject of the conversation about migration but part of it.
